Suction-assisted Lipectomy

A suction assisted lipectomy can be performed under local anaesthetic to remove fatty deposits reducing the volume and size of the breasts.

About

Liposuction can be used alone to reduce the breast or as an adjunct to other procedures.

Is a suction-assisted lipectomy right for me?

A suction-assisted lipectomy is recommended for women with relatively large breasts who opt for a reduction in their size but unwilling to undergo reduction mammoplasty either due to medical reasons (e.g. contraindications to general anaesthesia, higher risk of complications) or personal reasons (e.g. scarring). This method can be used under local anaesthetic to remove fatty deposits reducing the volume of the breasts.

New technologies such as VASER Lipo and Smartlipo MPX can also achieve a moderate skin tightening providing thus a lifting effect. However women who choose this technique for breast reduction and/or breast lift should be aware that the result is not as drastic as with the other techniques (i.e. Breast Reduction, Mastopexy), but it involves a quicker healing time, little scarring and maximal preservation of the nerves and blood vessels of the breast.
